This training equips community members with the knowledge and confidence to have safe, respectful conversations about domestic violence. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of abuse, understand the complex reasons survivors may stay in or return to relationships, and approach these situations without judgment or pressure. The session emphasizes empathy, safety, and the power of community connection—showing how listening and support can make a real difference. Participants will also learn when and how to involve professional supports, ensuring that survivors are connected to trained experts who can provide the specialized help and resources they need.

This training prepares community members to engage in safe, informed, and compassionate conversations about domestic violence. The session is divided into three core sections:
Talking About Domestic Violence:
Learn how to recognize signs of abuse, start conversations with care, and respond in ways that prioritize safety and dignity.Understanding Survivor Choices:
Explore the complex, often misunderstood reasons why survivors may stay, return, or make choices that don’t align with outside expectations - grounded in trauma, safety planning, and survival.Engaging Professional Supports:
Understand when and how to connect survivors with trained professionals who can provide specialized, confidential support and guide them safely through available services and systems.
Together, these sections give participants practical tools to support survivors with empathy, awareness, and respect for their autonomy.
